Shortly after signup, your Deputy agent is assigned its own email address — a direct line to your agent that anyone can use.
How it works
Once your agent is set up over SMS, it gets assigned a dedicated email address. From that point on, any email sent to that address goes directly to your Deputy agent — which reads it, understands the context, and acts on it or notifies you via SMS.
You can share this address with clients, colleagues, or services the same way you'd share any email contact. Your agent handles what comes in.
What your agent can do with it
Handle inbound enquiries
Put your agent's email address on your website, business card, or in your email signature as a point of contact. When someone reaches out, your agent receives the message and can alert you via SMS with a summary and the sender's details.
"A new enquiry just came in from Sarah at Brightfield Co. She's asking about your availability for a project starting in May. Want me to reply and schedule a call?"
Act as a forwarding address
Forward any email from your own inbox to your agent's address and it will summarise it, draft a reply, or take whatever action you'd normally handle yourself.
"I've forwarded you an email from a supplier asking for updated payment terms. Draft a reply that agrees to net-30 but asks them to confirm in writing."
CC your agent on threads you want followed up
CC your agent's address on any email you send. Your agent will track the thread and nudge you if you haven't heard back after a set period — or follow up on your behalf.
"It's been 4 days since you emailed Marcus and he hasn't replied. Want me to send a short follow-up?"
Receive lead notifications from forms and tools
Many contact forms, CRMs, and services let you configure a notification email address. Set it to your agent's address and your agent will process each notification — qualifying the lead, logging the details, or drafting an outreach message — then text you a summary.
"New lead from your website form: Jordan Lee, looking for branding work, budget around $5k. Looks like a good fit. Want me to send an intro email?"
Subscribe to newsletters and digests
Sign your agent's address up to newsletters, industry digests, or update emails you want to stay across without reading everything yourself. Your agent will surface what matters and skip what doesn't.
"From this week's newsletters: one article worth your attention — a breakdown of how three agencies are pricing AI work. Want the summary?"
What's coming
The agent email address handles inbound email today. Gmail integration — where Deputy connects to your existing inbox to read, draft, and manage email on your behalf — is coming soon. See what's planned.
